Anisence is a UK fragrance house that turns anime characters into eau de parfum. We study each character's personality, backstory and presence, then translate them note by note into a scent you can actually wear. It's a character you carry with you, not merch that sits on a shelf.

Who we are
Scent is the closest thing to stepping inside a character
Anisence began with one fan's curiosity. In 2023, while studying in Japan, our founder Rin visited Primaniacs, a boutique in Ginza, Tokyo devoted to anime fragrances. As she smelled each character's scent, she started wondering how every note might connect to the character behind it. Back home in the UK, with her mum Branka cheering her on, that question became Anisence in July 2023.
Figures and posters let you look at a character. A fragrance lets you feel them, every time you wear it.
Every Anisence fragrance starts with a question: if this character had a scent, what would it be? The answer comes from rewatching, rereading and arguing over the details, then building a balanced eau de parfum that works on its own. You should love wearing it even if nobody around you knows who inspired it.

From character to composition
Every fragrance follows the same four stages. Each one has a single job: make sure the scent tells the truth about the character.

Study the character
Personality, history, fighting style, the way they move through a scene. We build a profile before we touch a single note.

Translate traits into notes
Confidence, warmth, menace, calm. Each trait is matched to the scent families and materials that create that feeling.

Build the pyramid
Top notes for the first impression, heart notes for who they really are, base notes for what lingers after they leave.

Test, refine, bottle
We test on blotters and on skin until it feels like them and wears well, then bottle it as an eau de parfum.

About Anisence
What is an anime-inspired fragrance?
An anime-inspired fragrance is a perfume made to capture an anime character's personality, mood and presence through scent. At Anisence, each eau de parfum is built from a detailed character study: their traits are translated into top, heart and base notes, so the scent tells their story as it develops on your skin.
Where is Anisence based?
Anisence is an independent fragrance house based in the United Kingdom. Our founder Rin started it in July 2023 after a trip to Japan, and it has since grown into a team of four: creators, artists, researchers and storytellers who share her love of anime and fragrance.
Do I need to know the anime to enjoy the fragrance?
Not at all. Every scent is composed to be a balanced, wearable perfume on its own. The character is the inspiration and the story behind it. The fragrance stands up by itself.
How do you choose the notes for each character?
We profile the character's personality, history and the emotions they bring out in fans, then match each trait to the scent families that create that feeling, arranged as top, heart and base notes. Read the full breakdown on our process page.
Which sizes are available?
Most of our eau de parfums come in 2ml, 5ml and 50ml, starting from £6.00. To test several characters first, try one of our scented blotter card sets.
